With nearly 7 years of experience as Operations Manager at Coonrod Financial Group, Tyler has built a career centered on creating value for clients, optimizing financial operations & driving sustainable growth.
In his current role, Tyler oversees the daily operations of our firm & assists in serving thousands of clients from around the world. As a Licensed Financial Professional, Tyler plays a hands-on role in trading, money movement & account management, ensuring every transaction—from asset transfers to trade execution—is handled with precision, transparency & care.
Working closely with our team of CPAs & Enrolled Agents, Tyler also assists in the preparation & processing of nearly 1,000 tax returns each year. While not a tax professional himself, years of experience on the tax side of wealth management have provided him with a broad understanding of tax-related finance & how it intersects with investment & retirement planning.
In addition to his operational role, Tyler leads the firm’s marketing, advertising & branding initiatives, ensuring our public presence reflects the integrity, professionalism & client-first focus that defines our firm. Since joining our team, he has spearheaded a number of different initiatives - including a complete rebranding campaign & the launch of our Annual Charity Drive.
Before entering the financial industry, Tyler spent nearly a decade as an entrepreneur after founding Abe’s Takeout — Springfield’s first restaurant delivery & marketing platform — long before national competitors like DoorDash or Uber Eats. Partnering with 75+ restaurants at it's peak, he scaled & eventually sold the business to Mr. Delivery USA & Delivery.com - two long standing, multi-national leaders in online ordering. That experience shaped his passion for business strategy, management & ultimately, finance.
Outside of the office, Tyler is proud to serve as President & Founder of Gonzo’s Legacy: The Zack Defreitas Project, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to preserving the legacy of a lifelong friend & teammate. The organization aims to raise awareness for colorectal cancer & provide financial assistance to underprivileged youth in the hockey community. Since it's founding in 2023, the organization has raised over $55,000, donated 75 full sets of hockey equipment to kids in need, and funded local cancer research & education through partnerships with Simmons Cancer Institute & SIU Medicine.
When he's not assisting clients or raising money for charity, Tyler enjoys spending quality time with his wife & son, alongside their fun-loving Golden Retriever, Ruby Doo. In his free time, he can be found at the local ice rink supporting & coaching youth hockey. A student of the game for over 25 years, Tyler frequently plays in tournaments around the country in an attempt to relive his college hockey glory days.
